Saltcoats is a small town located West of Glasgow on the Ayrshire coast in Scotland. There are many roads from all directions to it, so you will have to decide for yourself which one is best for you. The event takes place every Wednesday and Saturday between 10am and 4pm.
To obtain a trading position on this market, simply turn up on the day, as early as possible, and join the casual queue. Empty pitches are allocated by the market superintendent on a first come, first serve basis. The cost of pitches vary so please call our head office for up-to-date information.
The site is all hard standing with vans on and toilet facilities on site. It sits right in the middle of a busy town centre and a superstore, next to a church, for those wishing to "send messages" to "their father".
The title of Saltcoats comes from its history as a salt mining town, and its shortened form of ‘The Salt Workers’ Cottages”. Saltcoats is situated alongside Ardrossan with its popular harbour and both are great tourist destinations.
